MLM schemes aren’t always about selling vitamin drinks. They can be about any product at all.

The important thing to know about them is that most of them are scams and that nobody ever gets rich (legitimately) from them.

Here’s an article that explains them:

MLM is a very good way to earn an income. There are many products that are distributed through a MLM system. They aren’t all juice companies.

MLM has gotten a bad name over the years because people have joined some businesses expecting over night riches and it hasn’t happened for them.

They don’t realize that MLM is a business just like any other business. It takes time, dedication, and hard work to get it off the ground and growing.

The link below will explain what MLM is and how it works.

I know someone else already mentioned this. It’s an awesome business, NOT in any way a scam. I love it! You can go to my website and learn more about it. You must be 18 though.

Health and wellness is one of the largest crazes. If you study the marketing directed at the “baby boomers,” the majority is surrounding health concerns. However, just simply jumping on the wagon won’t create success. The only way to become successful in MLM is by learning how it does work. You must study MLM and network marketing prior to getting involved. Even, prior to finding a mentor. I have a couple of helpful links to facts and tools in my profile page here at Yahoo Answers. The links will help you with doing due diligence prior to getting involved with a person or a company. It will also help you to protect your hard earned money and your precious time.

Best Regards!

If you’re serious about being your own boss, making an honest income commensurate with the effort you put forth. I have been working with a company for a while and have had great results. If you are interested contact me.

Most “new” MLMs are indeed focused on the health & wellness industry because that’s where the money is.

The baby-boomer generation is reaching retirement, and as they do they are investing more and more money into looking and feeling younger. By 2010, this market is estimated to represent $1-trillion in world-wide spending.

Most people are looking for residual income when they look into MLMs. Most companies capable of providing such a residual are going to require you to make a monthly commitment. That’s a good thing: people on your team paying monthly is how you get paid.

Some programs require you to spend more per month than others. Pay attention to that, since the more you make per customer the less customers you need to find to make six figures. If you’re selling a $1 product, you’re going to have to sell many more than someone with a $100 product.

The key is to make sure you find a program where that monthly expense is going into something of worth. In some programs, you get your money’s worth… in others, not so much. Consumables are great, which is another reason many MLMs are in the vitamins/supplements market… people never quit ordering those products, if they work.

I don’t want to name specific companies, because I’m in several MLMs and it would be hard to remain unbiased. That said, do your due dilligence and trust your own research and opinions more than “the pitch” of the person trying to sponsor you.

There are many genuinely good, legitimate programs out there making a lot of people a lot of money.
